This is the view of Loch Tummel from the vantage point of the Queen's View in Perthshire, Scotland. Luckily, we had a pretty good weekend with (gasp!) no rain and lots of sunshine. As a matter of fact, between Friday and Sunday, I don't think I could see one cloud in the sky. I was walking around in shorts in a t-shirt, driving in a car with the windows rolled down and, by god, I WASN'T COLD.

Of course, as with just about every other tourist-y place in the UK, there was a Tearoom up there with the requisite £6.95 sandwich and tea (that's over $10.00) to the USA-ians out there. Nachos weren't available on the menu.

Getting there on the road was a bit scary. It was one of those "two lane" roads that can barely fit two cars going by each other. So, even though it was only a few miles from the start of the Loch to the Queen's view, it took a good 20 to 30 minutes to get there because you had to keep your eyes on the curve ahead.

After my journey around Loch Tummel, I was starting to get tired. And, again, surprisingly enough, a little hot. So I figured I'd do what I used to do in Texas when things started to heat up - head for the water!
